Description

Ideal for unobtrusive spot miking, such as hanging or table use, the d:dicate™ 4011E Cardioid Microphone, Active Cable is an ultra-compact cardioid microphone from the modular d:dicate™ Microphones Series. The mic has a length of only 3.5 cm (1.4 in) and a low-key appearance.

The d:dicate™ 4011E Omnidirectional Microphone features an integrated cable solution with either side (4011ES) or rear (4011ER) cable entry. This allows the mic to be hung from the ceiling and create precise and repeatable positions and angles when spot miking orchestra sections or ambience atmospheres.

The microphone capsule

The principal appeal of the MMC4011 Cardioid Microphone Capsule is its directional quality and attention to detail. This mic makes everything sounds like the original. The first-order cardioid pickup pattern provides superb separation between sound sources.

Capable of handling high SPLs without distortion, the microphone is perfectly tailored for close-miking applications; minimizing bleed from other instruments. It is ideal for close-miking of instruments like acoustic guitar, drums or grand piano. With its accessories, it can even be placed, for instance, in the piano frame.

A flat on-axis frequency response and excellent phase response deliver a totally faithful reproduction of the original sound. The off-axis response is similarly smooth so that any leakage is an accurate reflection of the original, though attenuated according to the true first-order cardioid pickup pattern.

A truly flexible range

This mic is part of the flexible d:dicate™ Microphone Series. At any time, and with no tools needed, it is possible to transform the d:dicate™ 4011ER/ES Omnidirectional Microphone into a new configuration. You can combine it with another d:dicate™ or d:facto™ Microphone Capsule or Preamplifier.

The d:dicate™ 4011ES replaces the non-modular legacy 4021 Cardioid Condenser Microphone and the d:dicate™ 4011ER replaces the non-modular legacy 4022 Cardioid Condenser Microphone.

Order numbers: 4006ER, 4006ES.
